Patient Positioning Device

Recently a project has begun to solve a “problem” for an offshore hospital. For several years they had needed a special patient positioning device for an x-ray machine. The need came about through their work with patients suffering intellectual disabilities and reduced motor control skills.

The use of composites provides the only practical solution. As well as it’s excellent mechanical properties, carbon fibre is radiolucent and doesn’t interfere with the function of an X-ray machine.

This product is a simple solution to a challenging problem, and comes about by the fusion of different technologies being applied in different industries.
