The vision for Dynamic Composites was crystallised while working for an internationally renowned Christchurch boat builder. A qualified mechanical engineer, he gained a wealth of experience in design and manufacturing while working for the boat builder.

Equipment designs credited to his name have contributed to winning no fewer than two Olympic gold medals, in different disciplines, numerous world championships and several world and Olympic records.
